Police find human remains in inner-Brisbane suburban unit

HUMAN remains were part of a grisly find in an inner-Brisbane suburb over the weekend.

Late on Saturday night police found human remains inside a unit at Teneriffe and the dead body of a man on a nearby street.

Police yesterday said an incident had occurred late on Saturday night leading to the discovery.

Police said the death of the man was currently not considered suspicious, but the Ethical Standards Command is overseeing this aspect of the investigation.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human remains inside the unit remain ongoing.

Fortitude Valley CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Armitt is appealing for public assistance as part of their investigation.

"We'd like anyone who may have been at the unit complex or around the area last night who may have seen anything suspicious to contact police," he said.
