ANYONE who has been to Tasmania cannot help but be awed by its beauty.
Lovely green hills, breathtaking seaside towns, even lush forests to distract from the abundant unsightly logging.
You will also know that Tasmania's gastronomic delights are comparable to the best in the world.
The freshest and tastiest salmon, beef and oysters and unfortunately for me some of the best cheeses and wines around, too.
It was the latter two that proved my downfall on a work trip for a car launch to this under-appreciated island last week, making Week 3 of this paleo diet quite a frustrating and underwhelming experience.
Aside from a sad-looking fruit salad and eating the contents of a sandwich without the bread, I could find almost nothing at the airport to satisfy the requirements of the diet.
And it only got worse once I stepped off the plane and into a banquet to ignite the senses.
I would like to say I was strong enough to resist the cheeses and the odd bottle of wine - but you would see right through me.
More than anything, I was struck this week by how much diets need practicality for longevity.
