ABC's Spencer Howson to sign two year deal to stay at 612

BRISBANE'S king of breakfast radio is set to remain on his throne.

It's believed Spencer Howson will sign a two-year deal to stay at 612 ABC, dashing further speculation that he was bound for commercial rival 4BC, which has lost another presenter in line-up changes.

The 42 year old has been number 1 in breakfast listener ratings all year and is expected to complete a clean sweep when the next survey results come out on December 10.

A two-year contract is a sign of the national broadcaster's desire to keep Howson in its stable, given most contracts are done on an annual basis.

While the announcement is yet to be made official, current ABC Western Queensland mornings host Bernadette Young let the cat out of the bag on Twitter on Monday night.
