ADFAS celebrates 20-year art milestone

ADFAS Rockhampton recently celebrated 20 years of bringing art experts from around the world to entertain and inform the art lovers of Central Queensland.

Guests of honour included Rockhampton Mayor Margaret Strelow, ADFAS national treasurer/ADFAS Brisbane River chairman Terry Cronin and the ADFAS Cook Circuit co-ordinator/ex-chairman ADFAS Gold Coast Ann Dean and husband Robert, Rockhampton Art Gallery curator Diana Warnes and many old and current ADFAS Rockhampton members.

Celebrations started at the Rockhampton Art Gallery with the cutting of M. Cowan's anniversary cake and P. Handley unveiling the society history book, ADFAS Rockhampton: the First Twenty Years, by P. Handley and R. MacFarlane.

Guests toured the Rockhampton: The Forgotten Port City exhibition which brought back many memories.

Celebrations then moved to RGGS for canapes, live entertainment and an entertaining slideshow of the society's last 20 years of bringing la crème de la crème of art experts from around the world to inform the art lovers of Rockhampton.
