Ahoy there! Warship with 6000 sailors to dock in Brisbane

ONE of the world's largest warships will dock in Brisbane later this week ahead of war games with Australia next month.

The USS George Washington is expected to arrive on Friday along with more than 6000 sailors who are expected to pump millions into the local economy.

The nuclear-powered vessel will take part in Exercise Talisman Sabre which runs from July 4-19.

More than 33,000 Australian and US military personnel are expected to participate in the war games that are held every two years.

The exercise will involve 21 ships, more than 200 aircraft and three submarines.
