Thousands to go through Rocky airport today for Easter peak

STAFF at Rockhampton Airport are bracing for a big day as people embark on Easter holidays.

Councillor Neil Fisher, chair of the Business Enterprise Committee, said today was the busiest day of the year for the airport.

"On average we have 2000 passengers travelling in and out of the airport a day," he said.

"On Easter Thursday last year 3045 passengers passed through Rockhampton Airport, many travelling to go and visit families and loved ones."

Mr Fisher said this showcased the important role Rockhampton Airport played in connecting people across the state.
