All steamed up over cheeky coffee
ROCKHAMPTON is about to get a whole lot sexier.
Sexie Coffie owner Jasen Barrie yesterday announced plans to open his second store in our city by early 2010.
So brace yourself from some cheeky fun as Jasen plans to bring the whole unique range here, including its Strip Teas, Between the Sheets and Chicky Babe sandwiches.
Jasen opened his original Sexie Coffie store in Maryborough in 2003, after building Rockhampton’s Coffee House in 2000 and selling it in 2002.
He said he moved to Maryborough, bought an old McDonald’s building along the Bruce Highway and produced a concept that focused on quality service with a name that would demand attention.
In six short years it’s become one of the most popular stop off points on the Bruce Highway in Queensland.
Jasen said Sexie Coffie was all about cheeky clean fun.
“I believe having coffee can be a sexy experience and I like to focus on that,” he said yesterday.
“Our unique name and concept of light food, fresh coffee and tea, including equipment, is about having the ability to focus on the serious side of professional espresso and tea making whilst having a laugh.”
Jasen said he chose to expand to Rockhampton because he knows the local passion for good quality coffee and food.
He said he has also built quite a large following of customers from Rockhampton who visit the Maryborough store regular and order over its website.
“I believe Rockhampton is a strong town,” he said.
Sexie Coffie Rockhampton will open at 49 William Street, across from Coffee House.
He hopes customers will be ordering a steamy cup early next year.
