Using their heads for a good cause

WHEN mother of four Megan Jerrett announced she was doing the World's Greatest Shave, she didn't expect her whole family to join in.

Megan's husband, Adam, said she was the main motivator behind the family's fundraising campaign.

"Megan started it all and we figured if she was brave enough to do it, we could all do it with her," he said.

It's been a few months in the making, with each of the Jerretts growing their hair as long as possible... except for Danny - the kids' Pop.

Though Danny is bald, he'll still be doing his bit, opting to have something funky painted on his already-bare head.

The three youngest kids will have their hair coloured, and Megan, Adam and Kyran will shave their heads to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

"Something so little for you can make such a big difference to someone else's life," Adam said.

The family will participate in the World's Greatest Shave event hosted by Platinum Day Spa on March 15.

There'll be a fundraising barbecue, with bread donated by Henwood's Bakery and sausages donated by South Services butchery.

Platinum Day Spa has donated a beauty package, and there will also be a lucky door prize.

"We are still looking for something to raffle off for the blokes," Adam said.

"If any businesses in town would like to donate a blokey prize, that'd be great.

"Come and join us on the day, whether you want to shave with us or just to watch us be brave," Megan said.

The Jerretts will do the World's Greatest Shave on March 15 at 9.30am at the Platinum Day Spa.
