Alleged bottleshop thief caught

A MAN allegedly involved in the theft of $2000 worth of alcohol from a Biloela bottleshop didn't get a chance to do any taste testing.

Police said they caught a 20-year-old Lockhardt River man in the early hours of Thursday not far from the business.

The stolen booty allegedly included wine and spirits.

The man appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court later that day on charges of break and enter, stealing and possession of a dangerous drug, and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear again on February 11.

Biloela police Senior Sergeant Nick Paton said authorities believed there were others involved in the crime.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
