Ambulance called after miniature steam train derailments

A NUMBER of people were taken to hospital after two miniature steam train derailments in Kearneys Spring on Sunday.

It was the first public running of the miniature steam trains at their new track at Lemway Park.

A QAS spokeswoman said an ambulance was first called to Lemway Park at 1.20pm after reports a train had come off the tracks.

The spokeswoman said a second train derailed about 1.40pm while ambulance officers were still in attendance.

Five people were transported to hospital with "minor cuts and abrasions".
