An abundance of talent impresses under -16s Capras coach

CENTRAL Queensland Capras Cyril Connell Cup coach Stephen Parle can't wait to begin the 2014 season.

The Capras under-16 coach has selected a 25-man squad after more than 50 players trialled for the side on the weekend.

The region's top 14- and 15-year-olds braved the hot conditions at The Cathedral College on Saturday afternoon to push their case for selection in the team, to the delight of Parle.

"It was an excellent trial and each player performed extremely well considering the very hot conditions," Parle said.

"Such was the quality of the trial that the selectors had an extremely difficult task in selecting 25 players.

"From what we witnessed on Saturday the Capras Cyril Connell Cup squad will be very competitive in 2014."
