Curtis Ferry crashes into ship in Gladstone Harbour.

AN investigation is underway after a collision between a ferry carrying troops from Shoalwater Bay and an unidentified ship in Gladstone Harbour last week.

It is believed the ferry was carrying army personnel from Shoalwater Bay to Gladstone when it collided with the ship.

Marine Safety Queensland is investigating the crash but a spokesman said it was inappropriate for them to comment while the incident was under investigation.

A Department of Defence spokesman also said that because the ferry wasn't Defence Department property it would be inappropriate to comment.

Little information was available late yesterday afternoon.

Curtis Ferries operator, Dennis Toy is currently overseas and was unable to be contacted.
