$2m sale beefs up land values

GRACEMERE businessman Charles Lund yesterday paid $2.1 million for a cattle property near Rockhampton, and said it was not even a good piece of land.

The multi-million-dollar sale reflects the current strong demand for rural property which is being driven by record cattle prices, stable interest rates and increased confidence.

The 3623 hectare property, 20km from Rockhampton, and the same distance from the Gracemere selling complex, will soon carry 500 breeders as they are finished before eventually ending up at Mr Lund's new butchery, Laglan Premium Beef, at Gracemere. Today's Morning Bulletin has the full report.
