All-rounder Kelly hits hard and scores high

ROCKHAMPTON all-rounder Liam Kelly has made a dream start to his Queensland Country under-19 campaign in Brisbane this week.

Kelly (51 runs) smashed a whirlwind half-century, which included 10 fours, to guide Queensland Country to 301 in their clash with the Queensland under-17 side at Allan Border Field yesterday.

The Queensland under-17s will resume at 0/30 today.

r At the State under-14 schoolboys championships in Brisbane yesterday, Gladstone's David Turich (50) also posted a half-century in Capricornia's loss to Wide Bay.

Capricornia take on Peninsula today.
