Amber reveals design talents

YEPPOON'S gorgeous Amber Olde is dressed for success and it's all her own creation.

Miss Olde, 17, stole the show at the recent St Ursula's College Year 12 formal evening with this debut design.

And you couldn't keep the smile off her partner James Baker's face.

"Mate, I think I was the proudest man alive,'' Mr Baker, 17, said.

"There were a fair few comments ... she looked stunning.''

Miss Olde, 17, dreams of one day becoming a famous designer.

She will move to Brisbane with Mr Baker early next year to study design.

There she will mix studies with modelling.

She is linked with the Alula modelling agency.

But design is her main love with the formal dress her first major creation.

The silk/satin dress was made in Thailand and cost $100.

"I loved it because it was different,'' Miss Olde, who spent more than 100 hours designing the piece, said.

"It's sexy and feminine and the bottom of the dress is really elegant.''

"I went to the formal last year and many of the dresses were boring. I had lots of comments about this one.''

She also designed Mr Baker's pink, satin/silk shirt.

"I would love to produce my own (clothing) brand and work overseas,'' Miss Olde said.

Mr Baker, who completed his schooling in 2004 and spent the past year working at a computer systems shop, will study IT and maths at QUT in Brisbane.
