Apology from ?a very sorry moron

By LYNDAL GAWEN ? "A VERY Sorry Moron'' has written to The Morning Bulletin apologising for the nasty note left accusing Bonnie Rayner of parking illegally in a disabled parking zone ar City Centre Plaza, Rockhamppton. Last Wednesday Mrs Rayner of Parkhurst approached the paper with a letter that had been left on her windscreen calling her a "bad bitch'' and a "f...ing fat lazy bitch'' for parking in a disabled car park with her disability permit visible.

It was hard to tell if Mrs Rayner was crying or laughing when the apology was read to her over the phone yesterday.

"I'm just so happy,'' she said about the response. "I thought long and hard before going to the paper, because you can open yourself up to more ridicule,'' she said.

The day the story ran on the front page Mrs Rayner was speaking with her older daughter about how the story would be received by the author of the note. "I wondered if they would be proud that it made it to the paper, or if they would be sorry. I'm really glad they wrote and I accept their apology.''

The author of the typed apology said they did not think Mrs Rayner was disabled by the way she briskly walked into the shopping centre.

The author also apologised for the tone used in the original note saying it was influenced by the "bad bitch'' sticker on Mrs Rayner's car and the way she was speaking to her children.

"I think everyone has their bad days with their children ...'' Mrs Rayner said.
