Arsonist strikes at home again

POLICE have appealed for information after an arsonist set fire to a North Rockhampton home for the second time in as many days early yesterday morning.

Rockhampton CIB Plainclothes Constable Damon Harris said it appeared someone was deliberately targetting the Water Street property.

Constable Harris said neighbours again spotted flames and the fire brigade were quickly on the scene.

On Saturday, Ben Ogden's quick actions with a hose saved the property after his mother saw a fire in the neighbouring home about 9pm.

"It's pretty much the same thing,'' Constable Harris said.

Curtains in a bedroom and living room were set alight. There was charring to the walls.

Police will step up patrols in the area. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Rockhampton police on 4932 1500.
