Back-to-back bowls brilliance

ROCKHAMPTON is eyeing a trifecta after back-to-back wins in last weekend's North Rockhampton Ladies Invitation Masters Triples competition.

The Pat Fulwood-skipped Rockhampton team clinched the title in thrilling fashion at North Rockhampton Bowls Club.

Fulwood combined with Margaret Reddy and Maureen Callow to finish unbeaten on 10 points, plus a title-winning margin of 43.

A composite team, led by Diggers skip Lorraine Dougan, also finished undefeated, but posted a margin of 38.

The Doris Munro-skipped Mackay team was third on nine points, plus 12, and Edna Lewis' Diggers combination placed fourth with eight points, plus 33.

This year's daily winners were Marion Batchelor (Gracemere) and Lorraine Baker (Emerald).

The lucky team was Peg Symes (North Rockhampton) while the sportsman's prize went to Ruth Wass (Yeppoon).

The lucky players were Fay Winch (Diggers), Fay Morgan (Diggers), Margaret Thackeray (North Rockhampton), Betty Rodgers (Emu Park) and Lesley Morgan (Emu Park).
