Blackout short-circuits fixtures

THE MINOR premiership is set to come down to the wire when the Rockhampton Touch Association senior fixtures continue next week.

A power blackout cut short Wednesday night's matches at Cyrill Connell Fields, with only three time-slots hitting the field.

In the B-grade ladies matchof-the-round, Fillies continued their winning run with a commanding 5-1 victory against Raiders.

The re-scheduled games will be played next Tuesday night. With only two rounds remaining until the finals, the title race is heating up.

In A-grade men's action, Bulldogs are chasing back-toback wins when they face Buckaneers Two.

Both teams are eyeing off top spot from defending champions Buckaneers One.

Buckaneers One also lead the A-grade ladies competition and take on Bulldogs in a topof-the-table clash.

Next Tuesday night's games will come forward to start at 5.45pm.

Points ? (A-grade men) Buckaneers One 33, Bulldogs 27, Buckaneers 22; (A-grade ladies) Buckaneers One 28, Bulldogs 27, Turkeys 27, Buckaneers Two 14.
