Brahmans join new Qld series

IT'S official ? the Rockhampton CSR Readymix Brahmans will feature in a seven-team statewide Queensland Country Rugby Union Championships series next year.

The new format was officially announced yesterday with Rockhampton joining Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Darling Downs and the Gold Coast in a round-robin series of three home and three away games, with one bye.

There are no finals with the top team crowned champions. Rockhampton campaigns against the Darling Downs in Toowoomba on February 25.

In the Central Division, the Central Highlands will play a weekend carnival against Mt Isa, Western Queensland and Bundaberg.
