Brian earns a fistful of dollars

ROCKHAMPTON cowboy Brian Duggan only needed one chance to collect the bounty for Fist Full Of Dollars at Theodore this week.

Duggan hit the jackpot at Monday night's Theodore rodeo when he became the first bullrider in more than 12 months to conquer the unridden Fist Full Of Dollars.

The plucky Duggan collected $3400 for the feature ride after the reward was raised by $100 for every ride the beast prevailed.

In this season only, there have been 20 unsuccessful attempts to conquer Tim Kelly's bull from the Heritage Ranch at Kingaroy.

"I've been waiting to get the chance on him,'' Duggan said. He also clinched the open bullride title ahead of fellow Rockhampton bullrider Ben Seeds.

A strong CQ contingent will hit the road this weekend for tomorrow night's Biloela rodeo.

The bullriding action continues the following weekend at Nebo before round three of the Toyota Extreme Superbull Series returns to Rockhampton's Great Western Hotel on May 28.
