Brothers get ready for new home ground

? GOALS are on track for the Brothers Australian Football Club's new home for the AFL Capricornia 2006 season.

Brothers have moved from Rockhampton's Victoria Park to Kele Park, off Western Street.

The goal posts are up, the field is ready for play and the clubhouse is taking shape.

New club president Roy West said the field was all, but right to go and the clubhouse should be at the lock-up stage before Christmas.

"We'll definitely be here next year,'' West said.

"There's a lot of space for the club to grow more.''

Brothers and Rockhampton City Council started initial meetings for the relocation in November last year with club vice-presi-dent Brad Matheson heavily involved in the progress.

The Brothers players started training on the Kele Park surface in June this year and resume preseason training on January 10 under the guidance of senior coach Steve Smithwick.

AFL Capricornia has released a tentative draw for next season with Brothers, the reigning Agrade champions, pencilled in to host the CQU Panthers at their new Kele Park base in the opening round on April 1.

In other games the BITS Saints could host Gladstone while the Glenmore Bulls are down to host Yeppoon.

The draw should be finalised in February.
