Brothers players to tackle chance at CQ team call-up

CENTRAL Queensland's Brothers rugby league fraternity is tapping into some interest from St George Illawarra.

Rockhampton's Victoria Park will host a series of under-15 and under-17 games on Saturday leading into a State Confraternity meeting, hosting Brothers club representatives from throughout Queensland.

Teams from Rockhampton, Gladstone and Emerald will hit the field in 20-minute halves.

A Central Queensland Brothers under-17 team will be selected to play a North Queensland Brothers team.

Players then have a chance to gain Queensland Brothers se- lection with his team invited to play a trial game against a St George Illawarra youth team.

Helping arrange the southern challenge is Emerald Marist teacher Kevin Blakey.

Games: Midday (U15) Rockhampton v Emerald; 1pm (U17) Rockhampton v Gladstone; 2pm (U15) Emerald v Gladstone; 3pm (U17) Rockhampton v Emerald; 4pm (U15) Rockhampton v Gladstone; 5pm (U17) Emerald v Gladstone.
