Brothers? youngsters team up for lots of fun

THE Brothers under-7 rugby league team highlights what sport should be all about, getting out there and having fun.

It is that age group where you can't keep some players away from the thick of the action while others are more content to hang off the play and wait their turn.

About half this team had played rugby league before the season and this year's games have been all about having fun, meeting new people and learning the basic skills of the game.

Brothers under-7 coach Michael Fletcher is a big believer in team sports for young children.

"It's a great chance to meet different people with a lot of them coming from different schools,'' Fletcher said.

Their final competition game of the 2005 season is against Yeppoon at St Brendan's College on Sunday.

But they're sure to be back next year.
