Bulldogs, Buckaneers meet

BULLDOGS will need to fast put the bite on Buckaneers when the two clubs clash in the Rockhampton Touch Association men's and ladies A grade grand finals on June 18.

Buckaneers enter both finals as favourites after being undefeated against Bulldogs this season.

The Bulldogs A grade ladies team has come from nowhere this season and qualified for the final with a thrilling 3-2 after-the-siren jaw dropping win over CQU Shagadelics at Cyril Connell Fields on Wednesday night.

Touchdowns to Monique Mitchell and Tara Fitzgerald had Shagadelics with a 2-0 early in the second half before the onslaught started.

Connie Schulz opened the scoring for Bulldogs with 10 minutes of play remaining before five minutes later Greta Perkins scored off a Melinda Spottiswood pass.

Bulldogs' winning touchdown arrived when Perkins passed the ball to Spottiswood on the siren who then threw a cut-out ball to Taleah Wooley to score the winning touchdown.

Perkins was surprised her team progressed this far and knows the final will be tough against a team which clicks so well together. In the A men's elimination final, Kent Staudinger scored a double in Bulldogs 6-3 win over CQU Vipers.

Elimination finals results: (B men) Cutters 7 d CQU Vipers B 4; (B women) Bulldogs 4 d Fillies 2; (C men) SS Nailtails 7 d Jus Nothin 2; (C women) Eels 3 d Hippy Chicks 2; (D men) Turkeys 5 d Big Wheels 4; (D women) Late Comers 4 d Seaspray Seagulls 2; (E men) Buddies 5 d Sloths 2; (F men) Troopers 4 d Boozers 3.
