Cap Coast hopes rest on F?ville

CAP Coast's Twenty20 cricket team is relying on pool leaders Frenchville to finish on a winning note.

The Coast team has finished its regular round games and now just needs Frenchville to defeat Bluebirds in the final round to secure second place.

Mitchell Roberts destroyed Southside United's hopes of victory at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds on Sunday, belting 66 runs in the middle order for Cap Coast.

The Coast earlier dismissed Southside for 107, with Stuart Keene taking three wickets, before replying with 8/141.

In Sunday's other match Gracemere was too strong for Norths in their Pool B clash.

Gracemere amassed 5/144 with Hamish McDonald, 51 runs off 35 balls, and Don Kahler, an unbeaten 50 runs off 30 balls, the main destroyers.

In reply Norths were dismissed for 100.
