Chloe wins big vote in first bash

CHLOE Tickner made her first major impact in the modelling world on the weekend when she placed second in the voter's choice awards in Townsville.

The 13-year-old from Yeppoon entered the three-day $100,000 fashion bash along with six other local models.

"My sisters (Angela and Hollie) do modelling so I want to follow in what they have been doing,'' Chloe said yesterday. "I also placed in the top 10 for the formal wear section of the event.

"I was very nervous because I was the youngest, I just turned 13 and I was going against all those older gorgeous girls ? I was very nervous.''

Chloe said the event included a workshop where she learnt a lot of basic modelling skills.

"I was a good experience,'' she said.

Luke George, 17, placed second for best dressed male in the evening wear section.

Out of 27 entrants, Hollie Tickner, 16, made the top five for the TV commercial event.

LA Modelling owner Julie Tickner said there was a good mix of people at the event and the girls learnt how to mix with models all over Queensland.
