Christmas wish brought to life

A CHRISTMAS wish came true for one 4RO listener yesterday.

On Jeff Goodwin's Talk of the Town program, listeners were asked for their Christmas wish.

Mr Goodwin said a man, who wished only to be known as Alan from south of Rockhampton, had called about 8.10am to say he wanted to see his grandchildren in Brisbane.

Producer Julie Svendsen said the wheelchair-bound man had met only one of his grandchildren and couldn't afford to visit.

"His message was for people to look out for those in need this Christmas, he wasn't looking to gain anything,'' she said.

"Within a few minutes ... the phones just ran hot, $1000 was raised with one man offering to pay the return flights.

"The Cathedral of Praise donated $700.

"The man is overwhelmed and humbled by the experience.
