City rolls out more Qld reps

STATE selection has proven the perfect reward for Rockhampton cyclist Lachlan Capern.

Capern, who has returned to the track this season after a shoulder injury halted his 2005 campaign, was one of six Rockhampton Cycling Club riders to gain Queensland selection this week.

Capern joins fellow under-15 riders Pene O'Dea and Kelly Smith, along with under-17 stars Philippa Hindmarsh, Sarah Edwards and Ben Moore, named in the State squad to contest next month's Australian Junior Track Cycling Championships in Perth.

Hindmarsh was a standout performer for the Rockhampton club at last weekend's Queensland Junior Track Cycling Championships in Townsville, winning four gold medals and one silver.

She will defend her Australian under-17 sprint crown when the national titles start on April 1.
