Click go the shears for charity

KRYSTEN Pawsey and Jacob Weatherall are getting ready for the chop.

The Emmaus College teacher and student are among a group of about 40 from the school shaving their head or colouring their hair for charity.

The shave for a cure will be held on June 10 and the school hopes to raise more than $5000 for the Leukemia Foundation.

In previous years the fundraiser has brought in morethan $11000 with up to 100 students taking part.

Ms Pawsey has already raised more than $1000 for the fundraiser by herself.

Organiser Bruce Clark said hair of the participants would be shaved or coloured at a special school assembly on the last day of term.

"I can't say they are looking forward to the shave but they are happy with the amount of money that is being raised,'' he said.

To donate to the fundraiser contact the school on 4923 5700 or 4923 5751.
