Cougars have the correct blend

CAPRICORN Cougars coach Washington Gonzales believes he has the right mix of "youth and experience'' for next month's Buxton Cup clash against Mackay/Whitsunday.

Gonzales yesterday announced his 15-man squad, including seven debutantes, for the June 17 match at Rockhampton's Ryan Park.

Clinton's Brendan Hancock and Shaun Petrie, Bluebirds United duo Gerard Kelly and Michael Hansen, Cap Coast's Dylan Kussrow and Michael Chelepy and Southside United striker Matthew Bettridge have been awarded for their strong starts in this year's Capricornia League.

The squad begins training next Wednesday night in the lead-up to the June 17 football bonanza, which includes a match between A-League clubs Melbourne and the Central Coast, along with the Australian under-20 Young Socceroos against Chinese Super League team, Changchun Yatai.
