CQ celebrates golden days

VISITING pony club competitors might not be all that keen on returning to Central Queensland as the host zone continued to reap in the gold medals yesterday.

Competing at Rockhampton's Paradise Lagoon, Crompton Park's Alleisha Priddle captured the gold medal in the A1 combined training, involving dressage and show jumping.

Alton Downs' Carly-Mae Pye won her A3 combined training division with fellow club members Kirstie Fossett and Joseph Rolfe taking gold in their respective B2 and C3 divisions.

Crompton Park's John Syme and Alton Downs' Holly-Jo Pye collected bronze in their respective B2 and 12 years and under competitions.

Central Queensland's Zone 27 team finished second overall to Zone 10 (Mackay).

Competition resumes at 8.30am today with the dressage phase of the one day eventing before the cross country heads to Alton Downs from 8.30am tomorrow.
