CQ cricketer plays Twenty20 at Gabba

FORMER Gladstone cricketer, Nathan Reardon, is ready to launch into the "excitement'' of Twenty20 cricket.

Reardon, a 21-year-old left-hand batsman, has been named in the Queensland Bulls squad for tonight's game against Tasmania at the Gabba and Sunday's clash against NSW at North Sydney Oval. "It's fast, the crowd's involved more and everything in the game is positive ? mind you the bowlers wouldn't say that,'' Reardon said.

Reardon, who left Gladstone in 2000 to complete his schooling at Ipswich Grammar School, is starting to find his feet in the Bulls camp after securing a rookie contract this season.

While he would welcome some more runs, averaging 15.00 with a 61.98 strike rate after six matches, Reardon said he could not afford to take anything for granted.
