CQ golfers score four ball victory

CENTRAL Queensland golfers have broken through to the next round of the State Four Ball Handicap Championships.

In Biloela at the weekend, John Crerar and Jim Bulten progressed to the regional final with Todd Semple and Mark Ghea along with Les Blunt and Neil Hutton.

In the qualifying round in Miriam Vale, Calliope's Peter A'Herne and Miriam Vale's Bradley Spencer won their qualifying round carding a low scoring 58 nett.

Other pairs to qualify were Calliope's Greg Stockbridge and Les McCosh (61 nett) and Calliope's Ian Johnson and Bart Egan (61 nett).

Meanwhile, with only Gracemere, Boyne Island and Calliope men's open championships remaining this year Yeppoon golfer Terry Bulger is leading the men's A grade Central Queensland Golfer of the Year in both gross and nett divisions.

Emu Park's Wayne Urquhart is the B grade frontrunner while Beau Snell leads C grade.
