CQ swimmers in the State medal hunt



A ROCKHAMPTON trio is on a silver streak at the Queensland Open and Age Swimming Championships in Brisbane this week.

CQ Aquajet Sam Bell finished second in the 13 years and under 1500m freestyle, CQU Rocky City's Matthew White also claimed silver in his 16 years boys' 100m breaststroke while his club mate Jason Green was second in the athletes with disability open men's 100m butterfly.

Green also placed third in his 50m freestyle event.

Caribeae's Annie Belonogoff placed fourth in her 13 years girls' 100m butterfly, but managed to claim a bronze medal with an international swimmer finishing ahead of her.

Gladstone Western Suburbs swimmer Sarah Lowe narrowly missed a medal on Thursday night placing fourth in her 15 years girls' 100m butterfly.
