Curator Stan returns to iron out a few creases

JARDINE Park curator Stan Alberts returned to the crease yesterday and is confident play will go ahead in the final round of the 2005-06 Southern Star Sports Shield this weekend.

After heavy rainfall in Rockhampton this week, Alberts hit the pitch for the first time yesterday in preparation for tomorrow's top-of-the-table clash between CQU Tigers and Brothers.

"If we get no more rain, we'll be right,'' Alberts said.

"It should be another good strip.''

In other games, Frenchville are chasing outright victory against Cap Coast at Kalka Shades while Gracemere and Bluebirds will continue their battle at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds.
