Driver survives shocking accident

THE driver of this utility miraculously survived a head-on collision involving a truck near Rockhampton yesterday.

It was one of five accidents which claimed the life of a man and injured at least eight others in a horror 24 hours on Central Queensland roads.

The accidents started at 1.50pm on Thursday when a car collided with a truck near Marmor.

The carnage continued with a two-vehicle smash in Rockhampton at 4.30pm on Thursday, the death of a man near Blackwater about 3.45am yesterday, a truck-utility accident 20km south of Rockhampton and a three-car crash at Marlborough in the afternoon.
