Emerald wins swim battle



FORGET the return of Ian Thorpe, Emerald swimmers have won the battle of the Central Highlands.

The club dominated the annual Springsure swim meet on Saturday, winning the overall points title.

Emerald swimmers scored 337 points to beat home Tieri on 210 and Moranbah on 181.

The Springsure event hosted 148 swimmers from Emerald, Tieri, Moranbah, Blackwater, Barcaldine, Blackall, Clermont, Dysart, Moura, Rockhampton's Caribeae and CQU Rocky City.
