Emu Park bank to open

THE site for the first branch of the Emu Park Community Bank has been announced.

Expected to be open for business by September this year, the inaugural branch will be located at 25 Patterson Street, in the middle of Emu Park's central business district.

The announcement precedes the launch of the bank's prospectus later this week.

Emu Park Community Bank chairman Bob Hodgson said strong initial support needed to be converted into capital raising after the launch of the prospectus, to finance the venture.

"This is a great opportunity for members of the public to invest in a local project that will bring major benefits to the community,'' he said.

"The maximum investment has now been increased to $10,000 to cater for a broader range of investors.''

About $600,000 is needed to finance the venture. The launch will be held at the Emu Park Surf Life Saving Club, starting with a sausage sizzle at 5pm tomorrow.
