Fashion surfs off to beach



? YEPPOON'S Amber Olde is swapping designer wear for surf lifesaving swimwear at Yeppoon's Main Beach.

Olde is returning from her fashion design studies in Brisbane to compete in the under-19 beach events at the two-day Wide Bay Capricorn Senior Branch Championships this weekend.

The championships have attracted about 240 nominations with Yeppoon fielding a team of 38 athletes while Emu Park and Tannum Sands clubs are also expected to arrive in force.

Yeppoon is also strongly represented on the beach by open competitor Lynda Baartz and under-15 athletes Matthew Hunter and Tessa Power.

In the masters ranks Yeppoon's Bill Robertson is a strong title contender along with brothers Darryl and Jeff Blackburn, also representing Yeppoon.

Competition starts at 8am today and 9am tomorrow.
