Final down to fine points



RUBIES needed every point to win the Scottvale Park Squash Centre's Thursday daytime final over Sapphires this month.

Vivienne Oliver, Kaye Kidd and Sylvia O'Sullivan produced the vital 493-482 points win for Rubies after each team won 10 games.

Sapphires' winning team members were Maureen Haughton, Carole West and Jenny Grillmeier.

In the League division this season's winners were Stallions (men A grade), Mustangs (men B grade), Fireballs (men C grade), Hahns (men D grade), Diamonds (ladies A grade), Bluebirds (ladies B grade) and Shooters (ladies C grade)

Most improved player for the season was Ben Isbel.

The Tuesday daytime season has also wrapped up with minor premiers Zircons scoring a 9-6 games win over Sapphires.

Winning players for Zircons were Oliver, Lyndee Bollington and Sandra Rowcliffe.

Sapphires' winning players were Haughton and Kidd.

This season's winning juniors were Isbel (division 1), Lachlan Hite (division 2), Blake Cook (division 3), Blake Hite (division 4), Brandon Coxsedge (division 5), Tim Bailey (division 6) and Jayden Hornung (division 7).
