Frenchville shoot to grand final glory

FRENCHVILLE junior basketball teams have dominated the Rockhampton Basketball junior finals this season winning three titles in last Thursday's grand finals at Hegvold Stadium.

Frenchville also won the division one boys and girls titles on November 18.

In the division two boys final, Frenchville Panthers Green scored a 53-47 win over Keppel Stingers with Lachlan James (25) and Jordan Baleikatuba (13) leading the scoring for Frenchville while Ashley Hickson (29) and Morgan Rosin (10) led Stingers' scoring.

Keppel Stingers hit back to win the division two boys title with a close 33-30 win against Southside Toledo.

Clay Boyd (21) and Joshua Gardiner (4) led the Stingers assault while Marc Toby (12) and Jordan Hinchcliffe (6) top scored for Toledo.

Ripper Lakers won division four boys with a 22-15 win over Frenchville Panthers White with Jackson McTier (10) and Michael Horton (7) the top scorers for Ripper and Frenchville respectively.

In the division two girls final, Shannon Booth (20) and Taylor Anderson (16) guided Southside Toledo to a 69-37 win over Frenchville Panthers Green.

Julia Page (9) and Shannon King (8) were Frenchville's leading scorers.

Frenchville Panthers Fender Benders produced a 41-37 win over Southside Toledo to claim the division three girls title.

Shea O'Brien (19) and Kirsten Wright (10) top scored for Frenchville.

Frenchville won division four on a forfeit over All Blacks.
