Gifts bring chance to share the spirit

CENTRAL Queenslanders can share the joy of Christmas with someone less fortunate this year by leaving a gift under the Mayor's Giving Tree at Stockland Rockhampton.

The presents will be distributed by the Salvation Army and blank gift tags will be provided so that givers have the opportunity to choose the age and gender of the recipient.

The tree will be located outside Big W and will remain there until Christmas.

Captain Peter Sutcliffe of the Salvation Army said hundreds of gifts were donated last year.

"It's helping us to meet a need within the community in supplying gifts to those who might go without on Christmas Day,'' he said.
