Give me my bat: I want runs



? ROCKHAMPTON cricketer Sean Toovey will be searching for more runs when the Australian Country Cricket Championships start in Mandurah, Western Australia, tomorrow.

Toovey failed to reach double figures opening the batting for Queensland Country in their two trial games against the QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport) at Brisbane's Allan Border Field over the weekend.

In yesterday's play Country made 9/256 before the QAS won in the 50th over at 3/259.

Country opened with a win on Saturday.

The QAS made 8/268 (55 overs) before Country replied with 3/273 (47 overs).

Toovey made three runs on his Country debut.
