Gracemere Lake ascends early

GRACEMERE Lakes Junior Golf Club has hit some winning form early in the season.

Playing in the first junior open championship for 2005 at Wowan earlier this month, Gracemere topped the points in the Central Queensland Junior Golf Club of the Year event.

Gracemere (65.2 average nett) finished clear of Capricorn Country Club (69.75) and last year's winners Yeppoon. Emu Park, Rockhampton and Calliope placed fourth to sixth respectively.

The next round is at next month's Biloela Junior Open Championship.

This year's Wowan A grade winners were Capricorn Country Club's Chris Thomasson (76) and Yeppoon's Katie Buttery (80).
