Green Machine out of champions race



? A NEW first-grade turf champion will be crowned today in The Morning Bulletin/Rockhampton Cricket Country Week Carnival.

Kingaroy ensured their finalround match against Moranbah will decide this year's winner after a thrilling two-run win over a desperate Green Machine outfit at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds yesterday.

Green Machine's Tony Hoffman was caught on the boundary in the final over to be all out for 123.

Batting first, Kingaroy's Jason Webber (47) and Troy Dennien (32) guided their side to 10/125.

Fast bowler Clarry Plummer was at his best for the Green Machine, who were still reeling from a one-run loss to Moranbah on day one, claiming figures of 3/12 off 10 overs.

In the other match, Moranbah continued their winning run with a 61-run win over defending champions Clermont. Big-hitting Barry Stanley topscored for Moranbah with 31.

Today's action starts at 9am.
