Health consultant plans recovery
THE CENTRAL Queensland Health Strategy has called in an internationally renowned Mr Fixit to help address the needs of CQ residents. Leading independent health consultant Mark O'Brien was in Rockhampton yesterday to lead community consultations with stakeholders on issues ranging from service delivery to training.
Mr O'Brien will return to Rockhampton this month to hold another two consultations before a final report is presented to Health Minister Stephen Robertson on December 12.
The Brisbane-based consultant has worked across Australia and overseas and was recently contracted to Bundaberg Hospital following the damaging Dr Death scandal.
"We're there to fix things up behind the scenes,'' Mr O'Brien said.
The CQ Health Strategy is a coalition of all the region's health providers charged with identifying the region's needs until 2011.
