Help reunite Maddie with her loving owner

A $2000 sick dog was stolen from Chris Webb's North Rockhampton home on Monday afternoon.

Her price tag sounds expensive, but Maddie is a priceless member of the Webb family.

"She could die,'' Mrs Webb said. "She had a litter of pups just weeks ago and she is still being medicated for a liver problem.''

Mrs Webb said the two-year-old pure-white Pomeranian was stolen when the family was out on Monday afternoon between 2pm and 5.30pm.

"There's no way she could escape or jump the fence ? she's only 12 inches tall.''

Countless efforts to find her canine companion had left Mrs Webb sounding distressed and tired on the phone to The Morning Bulletin yesterday.

Maddie was alone with her male companion, Snoopy, when she was taken.

Snoopy is now distressed and lonely, but the pups are fine.

And Mrs Webb's plea to possible thieves "She won't survive without proper care so we would really appreciate it if, whoever took her, could just put her back and we'll leave it at that.''

A Rockhampton police spokesperson said there had been no other stolen dogs reported to police in recent weeks.

The last spate of dog theft occurred early last year, when several Staffordshire terriers mysteriously disappeared across the Rockhampton region.

The Morning Bulletin was able to reunite some of them with their owners.
