Hot strategy for hard week of Christian cricket

THE Emmaus College cricket team is feeling the heat in their preparations for their debut in the Christian Brothers Cricket Week in Brisbane next week.

Their build-up included a practice match against the Rockhampton under16 touring team at Judd Park yesterday.

Emmaus coach Remo Menolotto said they had thought about nominating last year with a lot of good cricketers in Years 9 and 10.

"We now have a nucleus of good players that will be around for two years,'' he said.

Justin Stewart and Sam Acutt are the team's youngest members in Year 9.

Emmaus starts their plate division campaign on Wednesday against Gregory Terrace (2) before matches against Shorncliffe (2), Nudgee (2) and finally against St Brendan's College on January 16.
