How hockey memories played the field

THE Frenchville Rovers Hockey Club's 65th anniversary in Rockhampton over the weekend attracted players from throughout Queens-land.

Celebrations started with a six-aside competition at Frenchville's Ryan Park on Saturday.

Gladstone Sparks won the men's division, and collected the $500 first prizemoney, with a 3-2 win over Rovers.

In the women's final Frenchville Rovers Flames and Frenchville Rovers Green played a 2-all draw and decided to share the $750 winners and runners-up prize pool.

The Saturday night dinner, which displayed a host of memorabilia, attracted about 170 guests with some travelling from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Roma, Hervey Bay and Townsville.

Among the Brisbane travellers were Australian representatives Kym Ireland and Lisa Morgan.

The celebrations wound up with a brunch yesterday.
